Christian Education

Sunday School

Sunday School begins at 9:40 a.m. with classes for every age group.

Our Nursery and Toddler program teachers are loved by all.

The Pre-K and Kindergarten class studies God’s word with stories and art projects in a beautiful room with a mural of Noah’s Ark and all the animals.

Our class for Elementary and Middle School students prepares students for their study of God’s word with discussion, skits and hands-on activities.

High school and college students meet for coffee, study and discussion.

Several adult classes are offered for various learning styles and interests.

Nursery Provided

Babies and children are welcome in our worship service. Please bring yours and let them learn about God along with everyone else.
If you prefer to use the nursery, you’ll find it right outside the sanctuary doors to the left.

Children’s Church

During the morning worship service, children age kindergarten through 3rd grade meet in front of the church for the Children’s Message which explains in their terms the idea of the lesson for that day’s sermon. Afterwards, they are given the Children’s Bulletin with lessons and activities, and a bag with snacks, and crayons. They return to sit with their parents and participate in the worship service.

Opportunities To Serve

  • 3F Club is Smyrna’s senior adult ministry. 3F stands for Fun, Food, and Fellowship. Meetings are on the third Wednesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. Entertainment by local musicians, comics, and speakers is followed by lunch served at noon.
  • Men of the Church strive to serve God and others through various service projects ministering to our church and community. Fall Car Care Clinic for Women brings a smile!
  • Presbyterian Women Circles meet once a month and are open to all women of the church. These small groups encourage women to grow closer through Bible study, mission giving, and prayer.
  • Smyrna’s choir is looking for new members with a willingness to serve by singing. Rehearsals are held on Sunday evenings from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Church Family Meals are an opportunity for our congregation and visitors to share a time of fellowship over a meal. Once a month we meet in the dining hall after the Sunday worship service for either a covered dish meal or a prepared meal. Smyrna knows how to put on a spread.
  • Smyrna’s Media Center exists to encourage Biblical knowledge and spiritual growth by providing Christian materials for study and leisure use. Resources include non-fiction and fiction books, Bibles, commentaries, maps, games, group Bible study kits, cd’s, video and audio tapes. Materials for all age groups are available for check-out.
